Qué medimos

Qué significan los números para League of Legends

Ping in League of Legends

Ping is the round trip to the server your account plays on and back. In League it decides whether your last hit lands before the minion is taken, whether your skillshot arrives where the enemy still is, and how early the server says you were caught. General guidance: under 40 ms feels responsive, under 20 ms is ideal — guidance figures, not measurements of Riot’s servers.

Jitter in League of Legends

Jitter is ping varying from sample to sample. League punishes it in the laning phase: a connection swinging between 30 ms and 90 ms makes last-hit timing a guess, auto-attack resets feel different each trade, and skillshots land half a beat off. Consistency beats a lower but jumpy number. Keep jitter under 10 ms (general guidance).

Packet loss in League of Legends

Packet loss is traffic that never arrives and has to be retransmitted. In League it reads as a command that did nothing — a summoner spell that fired late, a move order ignored while your champion stands still, or a stutter-step that walks you back into range. Rare blips are survivable; anything repeatable in teamfights deserves attention. Target: 0%.

Regiones de servidor y cifras objetivo para jugadores indios

Your League of Legends account belongs to one Riot region, which determines the servers you play on — Indian players are commonly assigned a nearby region, but your client is the authority. Check the region shown there rather than assuming, and treat the in-game ping display as ground truth for each match. We do not measure Riot’s servers; every figure on this page is general guidance, not measured game-server latency.

Señales de problemas

Por qué el ping de League of Legends se dispara de golpe

01

Your account is on a different region

Your account belongs to one Riot region, and playing from a different one — a trip home, a friend’s lobby, a settings change — shifts your baseline. Check your client for the region your account currently uses, then compare this test’s ping with the number League shows in game.

02

Something is downloading

The client patching, another launcher or a cloud backup fills your router’s queue and your ping climbs with it. This test’s “under load” row captures that effect directly: clean idle numbers, inflated loaded ones. Pause transfers before you queue for a ranked game.

03

Wi-Fi interference at home

Wireless links share airtime with neighbours and household devices. Your average can look fine while brief retries add jitter — exactly the moments your last-hit rhythm or a flash combo falls apart. Full signal bars do not mean a clean path.

04

Peak-hour congestion

Evening hours put shared broadband and mobile capacity under pressure. Test at 10 AM and again around 9 PM from the same spot: a consistent evening collapse means congestion on your line rather than a busy League server.

Wi-Fi y League of Legends

League’s in-match traffic is small, so Wi-Fi rarely raises your average ping much — what it adds is jitter, and laning is a rhythm built on predictable timing. If you cannot run ethernet, sit on 5 GHz close to the router, keep the band uncrowded, and stay put rather than moving between rooms. Then verify with this tool: run it on Wi-Fi and on mobile data and compare jitter and the “under load” row. Those two readings, not the headline ping, tell you whether wireless is quietly costing you last-hits.

Pasos concretos

Arregla el lag de League of Legends — cinco pasos

  1. Paso 1

    Baseline both networks

Run this test on the connection you play on and once on an alternative — mobile data, or a connection next to the router. Note ping, jitter and under-load latency; every change you make later has to beat this baseline to be real.

  2. Paso 2

    Check your account region

Open your client and confirm which region your account currently belongs to, then compare what League shows in game with this test’s ping. If the two disagree sharply, the client may be connecting elsewhere — restart it and recheck before changing anything else.

  3. Paso 3

    Hold back downloads during ranked

Disable background downloads in the client, pause launcher updates and cloud backups, and ask others on the line to wait — or enable QoS on the router so game traffic stays ahead of theirs instead of queueing behind a patch.

  4. Paso 4

    Fix the wireless path

Ethernet is the durable answer. On Wi-Fi: 5 GHz only, router in the open and elevated, away from fridges, microwaves and Bluetooth speakers, with you nearby. Retest after each move and keep whatever lowers your jitter.

  5. Paso 5

    Escalate with numbers

A wired idle ping above 80 ms to your usual region, jitter above 30 ms while idle, or visible packet loss are ISP-level evidence. Attach this test’s results, the time of day and your client region to the ticket — numbers get triaged faster than complaints.

VPN y latencia de League of Legends

A VPN inserts a detour: your traffic reaches the VPN server before it reaches the game, so most players see their ping rise rather than fall. The exception is routing — if your ISP’s path to your region is unusually bad, a VPN can find a shorter one. Measure instead of guessing: run this test without the VPN, then with it, and keep whichever gives lower, steadier numbers. Check Riot’s rules and any tournament terms before playing through a VPN.

Los FPS reales dependen del hardware de tu equipo

FPS and ping answer different questions. FPS is rendering speed, set by your CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, graphics settings, drivers and thermals — League runs on a wide range of hardware, and lowering graphics settings helps frames on your machine. Ping is the network round trip to the server, measured on this page. A better internet plan will not turn 60 fps into 144, and a top-tier PC cannot fix a 150 ms connection. When a fight feels bad, ask which dial moved: did frames drop, or did your commands arrive late?

Indicadores, no garantías

FAQ

Ping de League of Legends — preguntas frecuentes

What ping do I need for League of Legends?

As general guidance — not measured Riot server latency — under 40 ms feels responsive, under 20 ms is ideal for last-hitting and skillshots, and above 100 ms every trade resolves a beat behind what you saw. Jitter under 10 ms and zero packet loss matter as much as the average, because laning rewards consistency. Run the test above, then compare it with the ping League displays in game.

Why did my ping in League go up suddenly?

Common causes: your account connected to a different region than usual, a client patch or background download is filling the line, Wi-Fi interference is adding spikes, or the network is congested at peak hours. Check which region your client shows, retest with nothing downloading, and compare morning and evening results to isolate which one applies.

How do I know which server region my account uses?

Open your client and look at the region or server information it displays — that is the authority for where your account belongs. Indian players are commonly assigned a nearby region, but assignments vary, so check rather than assume. Once you know it, compare the in-game ping display with this test’s result: both should tell a similar story.

Does download speed affect my FPS in League?

No — FPS comes from your CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, graphics settings, drivers and thermals, and no internet plan changes it. Bandwidth mainly affects patch downloads; in-match traffic is small. What the network does affect is ping, jitter and packet loss, which this test measures, and those decide whether your skillshot lands where you aimed.

Can a VPN reduce my League ping?

Usually it increases it — a VPN is a detour through extra servers. It can help when your ISP’s route to your region is unusually poor, and the only way to know is to measure both ways with this test. Keep the lower, steadier result, and check Riot’s terms and any tournament rules before playing through a VPN.
